In the Kamrangirchar Peninsula, an estimated 400,000 people live. Previously it was a dumping ground for Dhaka city’s waste but now it is a densely populated area where people live in houses made from wooden strands above the filthy water. Toxic waste from Dhaka’s Heavy industries is directly flown into the river though the daily life in the Kamrangirchar Peninsula continues. Here families share rooms with up to ten people making this densely populated area. This peninsula mostly comprised by migrants from other parts of Bangladesh. It covers only three square kilometre area but shares a daily life dwelling like children playing, people working or cooking with a highly polluted river and the adjacent environment.
