Jean Renoir (15 September’ 1894 – 12 February’ 1979): This gentleman was a French film director, screenwriter, producer, actor, and author. As a film actor and director, he had made about fifty films from the silent period to the end of the 1960s. His films The Rules of the Game (1939) and Grand Illusion (1937) are often quoted by various critics as among the greatest films which has ever made. He wrote the classic biography of his father, as an author. Jean Renoir was ranked by the Sound poll and BFI's Sight of critics as the fourth greatest director of all time.
