Portrait is picture of a person or group of people that displays the expression, personality, emotion and mood of the subject.  Like other types of pictures, the focus of the picture is usually the person's face, even though the entire body or the environment or context may be included. Portraitists may create their work by order, for public and private persons or they may be inspired by esteem or affection for the subject. Portraits are often important in state and family records, as well as remembrances. A well-executed portrait is likely to show the inner epitome of the subject.
